"Don't Leave Me This Way" is a song written by Kenneth Gamble, Leon Huff, and Cary Gilbert. It was originally released in 1975 by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes featuring Teddy Pendergrass, the British duo the Communards covered the track in 1986. This recording topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks in September, becoming the best-selling single of the year in the United Kingdom.
