Matt Bianco - Yeh Yeh

"Yeh, Yeh" is a Latin soul song originally written as an instrumental by Rodgers Grant and Pat Patrick, and first recorded by Mongo Santamaría on his album Watermelon Man! in 1963. British band Matt Bianco covered the song in 1985. It was their first release after the departure of Danny White and Basia Trzetrzelewska. The single version was then included in their second eponymous album in 1986.

 

Billy Ocean - Loverboy

"Loverboy" released in 1985 by Trinidadian-born British singer and songwriter Billy Ocean and is the second single from his fifth studio album, Suddenly (1984). 



Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody

"Unchained Melody" is a 1955 song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaret. North wrote the music as a theme for the prison film Unchained (1955), hence the song title. The best-known version of "Unchained Melody" was recorded by the duo the Righteous Brothers in 1965. The lead vocal was performed solo by Bobby Hatfield. According to his singing partner Bill Medley, they had agreed to do one solo piece each per album. Both wanted to sing "Unchained Melody" for their fourth album, but Hatfield won the coin toss. "Unchained Melody" reappeared in the charts in 1990 after the Righteous Brothers' recording was used in the box-office blockbuster film Ghost. This copy dated 1973 also comes with the song, You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling on the B-Side.



Feargal Sharkey - You Little Thief

"You Little Thief" is a song by Northern Irish singer Feargal Sharkey, released in December 1985 as the second single from his self-titled debut album (1985).


Enigma - Mea Culpa Part II

"Mea Culpa (Part II)" is a song by German musical project Enigma. It was released in 1991 as the second single from their debut album, MCMXC a.D. (1990). Like their previous single "Sadeness (Part I)", it is sung in French and Latin, though "Mea Culpa (Part II)" also has a line in English, "The time has come". 

 

Norman Greenbaum - Spirit in the Sky

"Spirit in the Sky" is a song by American singer-songwriter Norman Greenbaum, originally written and recorded by Greenbaum and released in December 1969 from his debut solo album Spirit in the Sky (1969).

 

The Bangles - Manic Monday

"Manic Monday" is a song recorded by the American pop rock band the Bangles, which was the first single released from their second studio album, Different Light (1986). The song was written by American musician Prince, under the pseudonym "Christopher". Originally it was intended for the group Apollonia 6 in 1984.

 


Sidenote - Who or What is Fil F.M. - Sometimes that little scribble can tell us alot of history about the original owner of a record, The lovely graffiti that adorns my record here was originally a radio station based in Lyon, France  (France Inter Lyon) originally established in 1972 on Medium Wave (until 1977) and FM, taken over in 1983 by RFL (Radio France Lyon), it would finally go out of service in around 1988 when it was replaced by RFL and then finally FIP Lyon which itself would run up until 2000 before finally closing its doors.
